ELECTRICITY COMMON SENSE

What exactly is electricity? Is it a substance or a phenomenon?

This is indeed a more mind-blowing problem. Electricity is an invisible but tangible “thing”. I think you all have experience of being electrified. Even if you have not been electrified by the mains, you must have been struck by static electricity. Is this a matter or a phenomenon?
Electricity is a property of matter. Just as matter has weight and volume, it is a property of matter. Because the positive and negative charges of the constituent matter are equal, the whole object does not show electricity. Only the positive and negative particles that constitute the substance The nature of electricity is revealed by separating the object. The simplest way to separate the positive and negative particles of the object is to electrify by friction.

Perhaps the first time you know from books, electricity should come from the story of Franklin flying a kite. Of course, the introduced lightning has a very high voltage, and the energy generated by the discharge is extremely large. It can be considered as Franklin’s life is relatively large, otherwise we would not listen. His scientific story, but to review his accident lessons!

1. Current
The essence of current is the movement of free electrons. Why do free electrons move? This is of course caused by the voltage difference. Let’s talk about this later. Let’s first talk about the problem of free electrons. As shown in the figure above, since it is an electron, all electrons are moving around the nucleus. Why are some easy to become free electrons flowing? Conductor, and some electrons cannot flow and become insulators?
Conductor: The valence electrons in the outermost layer of a conductor atom can easily break free from the bondage of the nucleus and become free electrons, which flow under the action of a voltage difference and become a current.

Insulator: The electrons in an insulator are bound by the nucleus and are difficult to become free electrons, or there are very few free electrons, so it is difficult to form an electric current and become an insulator!
There is no obvious boundary between a conductor and an insulator. It is just the number of free electrons that can easily break away from the bondage of the nucleus, and it may be affected by the outside world to change its own properties!

2. Voltage

Voltage is the movement of free electrons so that the electrons and electrons inside the wire repel each other, producing a series of chain reactions (the speed of this chain reaction is the speed of light), and this reaction propagates in the circuit and finally generates a voltage. It should be noted that there must be voltage when there is current, and there is not necessarily current when there is voltage, because voltage will still be generated in the open circuit state, and the voltage at this time is the open circuit voltage!
So back to the title, we can understand from the above description that electricity is a phenomenon caused by free electron movement! It is not matter, but the essence of causing this phenomenon is the movement of free electrons. Free electrons belong to matter!
If there is an electron, then the electron has a size and carries a charge. Some people say that as long as the electrons move, an electric current is formed. That person is only a porter of problems, not a developer. In fact, the electron must move beyond the space occupied by itself per unit time to be called current. The definition of current is very simple q/t, which corresponds to voltage, definition = Φ/t, what is magnetic flux, magnetic flux is the moving charge and the original The space intersecting part is a closed circle with fractional charges.
